Well the sequence of VASSAL games between Hena and myself continue with another Tau test game. I took the tau again and Hena selected a marine army which completes our games against the 3 core rule book lists.

Deployment.

Marines chose north edge.
SC Terminators were held in reserve to teleport. The Devastators and other Terminators were placed in Thunderhawks.
Both land speeder formations garrisoned on overwatch.
Tau garrisoned all three Recon groups. With Black and Brown on overwatch.
Remaining deployment as shown (including the turn 1 teleport of the SC terminators).

Turn One.

Initiative - Tau(!)

In shock the Scorpionfish with command node is ordered to sustain fire at the lit Terminators. But the excitement of battle is too much and the super heavy takes a BM and fires AP missiles (Now this turned out to be a mistake, but read on!). 2 of the heavy armoured marines are hit and one unit is killed.
The Terminators are keen for revenge and crash their way through the ruins to assault Recon Black. Two of the tetra's let loose their overwatch shoot hitting one unit but failing to kill it. The assault isn't that in favour of the marines due to the number of blast markers they have collected. They kill two tetras with no loses, but the Tau go into the roll off at +1. And lose by 2! Now in review here I made a mistake and removed 4 units! So the two remaining piranha’s broke forward deeper into the ruins.
The Thunderhawk with the Dev's was now called into action as my scout screen had folded. It dove in through a hail of seeker missiles (6 shots at 5+) but only one glancing hit was inflicted for the lone blast marker. The assault resulted in one point of damage on the t'hawk and 3 dead hammerheads. Then the terminators got in some support fire and killed two more tanks. With the marines at +8 it was no surprise that the AMHC was annihilated and BTS secured for the marines.
Recon white advanced forward over the woods and shoot at the land speeders hiding behind them. The melta overwatch fire missed, but the only hit inflicted by the recon unit was saved.
Thunderbolts One are ordered on to ground attack but fail to comply. A sharp word from the supreme commander sees the planes take to the sky! They fly in and approach the Crisis suits avoiding the seeker missiles sent their way (no hits). They fail to hit the battlesuits but the important blast marker is placed.
The second thunderhawk screams in to offload the second terminators into the crisis suit unit. 4 seeker missiles are fired but the lone hit is not enough to damage the marine flyer. The stealth suits open up but fail to hit. Showing real skill the marines only miss with one weapon, which leaves the formation with 2 stealth suits! In return one hit is scored but the marine armour is up to the task. Again with +9 to the roll the Tau formation is wiped out.
Recon brown advance to bring the dev's, terminators and T'hawk near the tau blitz under marker light coverage. They shoot at the dev's but failed to hit a single unit.
Scorpioinfish 2 (near the rocks) retains and sustain fires MW missiles at the Terminators. All the missiles miss but the Terminators are broken and retreat deep into the ruins.
Fearing the AX-1-0 Thunderbolt 2 are ordered to CAP but the order goes astray and the planes remain grounded.
AMHC advance and bring the central thunderhawk into range. Their rail cannons hit four times and the point of damage goes critical and the flyer is destroyed.
The left hand land speeders double and shoot at recon black, but all miss. One piranha is destroyed by the blast marker.
Scorprionfish 1 now sustained at the lit devastators but only hits 3, killing 2 but failing to break the marines.
The predators double forward hoping to catch recon white in a crossfire but they can't quite manage it. They open up and 3 hits kill 3 of the skimmers. The surviving broken piranha smashes itself into a tree as it breaks leaving the lone tetra to move to the vacant marine blitz.
The AX-1-0's now approach and target the thunderhawk near the blitz. 6 TK wounds are caused and the marine flyer is slaged to component pieces!
The marine bike march ready to engage next turn.

End Phase.

Thunderbolts 1 leave with 2 blast markers.
AX-1-0 leave with 1 blast marker.

Turn Two

Initiative - Marines

The predators advance to bring their guns on the AMHC. 4 hits only bring one tank down.
The dev's retain and assault recon brown. Both sides inflict 2 hits but the marines save while one tetra is wrecked. The marines go into the roll off at +1 and win by 2. The broken skimmer flee into the centre of the battlefield.
The AX-1-0 approach and shoot at the broken terminators. One unit is killed and the supreme commander succumbs to blast markers and is removed.
The bikes engage Scorpionfish 1. No hits are scored so the marines go into the roll off at +1 again, and win by 6! (snake eyes for the luckless tau :( ). The super heavy goes critical but the bikes are not hit by the debris.
The central Terminators engage Scorpionfish 2 with support from the bikes. No roll off is needed as between the two units 5 hits are scored causing 3 points of damage, one of them going critical but again no marine is hurt by the shrapnel the super heavy is reduced too.
The lone piranha of recon black advances and shoots at the lone terminator but misses.
Thunderbolts 2 are ordered to intercept the AX-1-0. The tigersharks defensive fire is wild an inaccurate. The thunderbolts fair much better and hit 3 times, bring down one of the AX-1-0.
The Scorpionfish CN advances. popping up to shoot at the left hand land speeders, but misses.
Thunderbolts 1 approach the lone tetra of recon white and remove the skimmer in a coup de grace (4 hits!).
The central land speeders double forward and shoot at the AMHC. Despite needing 6's two tanks are destroyed and the broken remains move to hide in the buildings in the marine half.
The left hand speeders advance to shoot at the remains of recon brown. But only one skimmer is lost due to the blast marker.

End Phase

Thunderbolts 2 are targeted by the lone scorpionfish as they leave but the only hit is avoid by some clever jinking from the navy pilot. 2 BM's
Thunderbolts 1 leave safely. 0 BM.
The AX-1-0 fly straight off. 3 BM.

Turn 3

Initiative - Tau (!)

AX-1-0 is ordered to ground attack, but not surprisingly decides that standing down is a much better plan!
The left land speeders are ordered to engage the scorpionfish. The marines cause 2 points of damage, and other critical! The one hit the tau inflicted was saved.
Recon black (the lone piranha) sustain fires at the terminator but can't hit.
With no activations left the marines have free rain.
Thunderbolts 1 attack and kill recon black.
The Bikes march and claim both objectives in the marine half.
The dev's double to claim the tau blitz.
The predators march back to the marine blitz.
Thunderbolts 2 approach and wipe out recon brown.
The central land speeders double and wipe out the AMHC.
And the tau have no models on the table!
