So, time for the rematch. Clausewitz decided to take the Emperor's finest this time to face the Tau. Definitely a different game!

The Hero's orbit brings it over the battlefield. It targets both missiles at Warhound 1. Both missiles hit causing 2 points of damage and breaking the war engine that heads forward to the eastern edge of the battlefield

In an attempt to break the deadlock the barracuda's are ordered to hit the whirlwinds. T'bolts 1 decide to intercept and between them and two hunters both barracuda's are shot down despite their desperate manoeuvres.

Crisis suits march into the central wood
Warhound 2 doubles forward. It unloads all its weapons on the crisis suits destroying two Battlesuit. The remaining two fall back behind the wood.
Orca with brown kroot come in to air assault the broken warhound 1. T'bolts 2 leave cap to attack the flyer. The flyer is damaged but not fatally. 2 kroot are killed but the war engine is destroyed. The kroot consolidate into the buildings

Both terminator formations appear in the woods with the broadsides, both arrive with one bm
Initiative - Marines
The terminator captain orders a combined assault on the broadsides. The suits overwatch fire is wild and no damage is scored. All the suits are destroyed in combat for the loss of one terminator unit
The brown orca ground attacks. It flies on to target the whirlwinds. The aa fire is ineffective but the lone hit scored on the artillery is saved
The whirlwinds sustain fire at the brown kroot but can't damage them. One unit is lost for the bm
The stingrays advance and shoot at the terminators with captain. 3 hits can't penetrate the thick armour
Warhound 2 doubles forward. It unloads on the crisis suits wiping them out
White firewarriors go back on overwatch
T'bolts 2 ground attack the brown kroot. No hits are scored
The scorpionfish sustains fire at the commanders terminators. 2 hits again fail to damage the terminators
SC tactical double and shoot the final brown kroot unit into oblivion
Orca white enters the battle to assault the terminators with captain. The marines save the CAP and the assault goes in. One kroot dies for no kills on the terminators. The tau win the roll off by 3 killing one stand finally. The broken terminators retreat away

The scouts march after some stern words from the Supreme Commander (reroll)
And the Tau realise they have lost 2-0 as the mech firewarriors can't make it into the marine half!
